This notice explains how jayone.co.uk, the website of Jay One Events Ltd, uses cookies and similar technologies, and how you can change your choice. Please read it together with our Privacy notice.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website saves on your device. Some are needed for a website to work; others are used for purposes such as analytics or advertising. The same rules cover similar technologies, such as scripts that collect information about how a website is used, so this notice covers them too.

How we use cookies and analytics

We keep this to a minimum.

  • We set one cookie for visitors, called jayone-consent, and only after you choose Accept or Reject on the cookie banner. It remembers your choice so that we do not ask you again on every page.
  • We use Vercel Web Analytics only if you choose Accept. It does not use cookies, but its script runs in your browser to count page views, so we ask for your permission first.
  • If you choose Reject, or make no choice, analytics does not run. The website works in the same way whichever you choose.
  • We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not embed videos, maps or social media feeds.

The table at the end of this notice gives the details of the jayone-consent cookie: who sets it, what it is for and how long it lasts.

Cookies for website editors

Authorised editors of this website can preview changes before they are published. The preview sets its own cookies, such as __prerender_bypass, in the editor’s browser only. They are never set for visitors, so they are not listed in the table.

Vercel Web Analytics

If you accept analytics, Vercel Web Analytics records the page viewed, the page you came from, your approximate location (country, region and city), your device type, operating system and browser. It tells visits apart using a code created from your request, which is valid for one day only, rather than a cookie, so it cannot follow you from one day to the next or across other websites. Vercel explains this in its analytics privacy information(opens in new tab).

Cookies on other websites

When you follow a link from this website to another website, such as the UK Mining Conference website, The CIS or LinkedIn, that website may set its own cookies. Please read its cookie information. The ESTA email booking request on this website prepares an email in your own email application; it does not open a separate CRM registration form.

Changing your choice

You can change your choice at any time:

  • select “Cookie settings” at the bottom of any page; or
  • use the “Manage cookie preferences” button on this page.

Rejecting analytics is as easy as accepting it. If you change from Accept to Reject, analytics stops, and the jayone-consent cookie stays on your device to remember your new choice.

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you delete the jayone-consent cookie, the banner will ask for your choice again. The Information Commissioner’s Office explains how to manage cookies in its guidance on cookies(opens in new tab).

Changes to this notice

We will publish any changes to this notice on this page and update the “Last updated” date. If we start using a new cookie or analytics tool, we will update this notice first.
